CONFLICT RESOLUTION CENTER IN LOW EARTH ORBIT

This is a competition entry from 1988. Building on an obsession with design and engineering for outer space that began in childhood (my father worked on the Apollo program), I proposed an orbital conflict resolution center. Overall layout of living and equipment modules were based on research into NASA technical design proposals for what became the International Space Station. The telepresence aspect drew from then state-of-the-art systems being evaluated by NASA at the Ames Research Center, such as the VIEW system. The rotating sphere filled with water would actually function as designed.
